Exploring Our Cave Room
We started our journey by checking into a beautifully designed cave hotel. The Romanesque design of the room made it feel historic yet incredibly modern. The temperature inside was perfect — cool and refreshing, offering an extraordinary experience that’s nothing like a typical hotel stay.

Excited to explore the town, we headed out to check out a highly recommended organic wine house that also offered hookahs. The charm of the small town really comes to life at night when everything is bathed in warm, ambient light.

During our wanderings, we stumbled upon a barber shop where I opted for a quick shave and trim. The experience was great and, as a bonus, the barber gave us excellent recommendations for a local Turkish bath and a scenic dining spot.

What struck us most was the friendly atmosphere of Cappadocia. Everyone we met was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making us feel right at home. This warmth extended everywhere we went and added so much joy to our trip.

On a local’s recommendation, we found ourselves at Kira Restaurant, another rooftop gem. The views were exquisite, and diners around us were clearly enjoying their meals. Our drinks were delightfully natural, contributing to a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. Prices here were a pleasant contrast to our previous spot, considerably more affordable.

Rather than ordering a heavy meal, we opted for a snack tray featuring onion rings, fries, and sausages. This light menu fit our plan perfectly as we aimed to explore more of the town’s dining scene later.
Battling the Chill
The evening turned chilly, a marked difference from the warm days. We made a quick stop to buy an international plug for charging our devices before grabbing our dinner — delicious chicken biryani — at a quaint Indian place. After our chilly adventures, we rushed back to our cozy cave room, eager to warm up and relax.

Back at the hotel, we couldn’t help but appreciate the extra touches like robes and slippers. We set up our dinner outside to fully immerse ourselves in the quiet, cool night. The chicken biryani made for a delightful dinner under the stars.

The next morning began well before sunrise to witness a spectacular display: hot air balloons ascending at dawn. This upland vantage point provided the perfect spot to watch them unfold. As we waited, we enjoyed a mini photo shoot, capturing the breath-taking scenery.
