Losing our van in Mexico has turned our world upside down. With everything that happened, it’s no surprise many of you have been asking about our future travel plans. Our life is drastically different now, and we’re trying to figure out our next steps. Here’s a bit more about our journey and what we’ve been up to since this all began.
Dealing with the Stress
The stress of losing our van in Mexico has been intense. Not only has it taken a toll on our mental health, but our physical health has suffered too. We haven’t been taking good care of ourselves, and both of us have put on some unwanted pounds. It’s tough, but we’re trying to be grateful for what we still have.
Our Routine Is Different Now…
Trying to Move Forward
Since losing our van, our days look very different. We’ve been spending more time with family, which has been a silver lining. We celebrated Daniel’s birthday with our oldest son, something we usually miss because we’re often traveling. We’re also helping our parents with their appointments and other needs.
Life After Losing Our Van
Our routine is different now. After hitting the gym, we try to take our dog, Gypsy, to the park. She needs exercise as much as us. Traveling with her has always been one of the best things about our van life.
Cancelled Plans and Future Uncertainty
We had a house sit scheduled in Denver, but we’ve had to cancel due to our current situation. We don’t think we’ll be house sitting anytime soon. If we get a call from Mexico, we need to be ready to go.

Update on the Lawyer
Our lawyer finally got back to us after our last video. He informed us he hasn’t heard anything new from Customs. Unfortunately, we’re still in the dark about what’s next.
Future Travel Plans
As of now, we don’t plan on going back to Mexico anytime soon. The situation has left a bad taste in our mouths. There are too many other places we want to explore before considering a return.

New Orleans Adventures and Upcoming Plans
Next week, we’re heading to Florida for a quick getaway, thanks to an invitation from a subscriber. This trip will be different without our van. We’ll need to find places to stay and secure a rental car, things we never had to worry about before.
